Therapy with Philipp

integrative PSYCHOTHERAPist IN Manchester & online

About me

Therapy isn’t just something I do – it’s something I’ve lived. My path to becoming a psychotherapist was shaped by years of personal therapy and my own journey through childhood trauma, OCD, anxiety, and low self-esteem. These experiences gave me a deep respect for the healing process – its challenges, its complexity, and its power. That journey continues every day – in my ongoing professional development, inner work, and the meaningful, human conversations I share with my clients.

My Approach

I’m an integrative and pluralistic psychotherapist, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic models to suit your unique needs. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. You are not a diagnosis or a label – you’re a complex person with your own story, personality, and way of being. Therapy with me is collaborative, dynamic, and grounded in mutual respect. You’re the expert on your experience; I bring the tools and the space to explore it.

A Focus on Connection

Clients often tell me they feel seen and understood when we work together. I value authenticity, curiosity, and warmth in the therapeutic relationship. Sometimes I’m playful, sometimes gently challenging – but always present with you. My goal is to offer a space that feels safe enough for you to explore, reflect, and feel empowered to change.

What Informs My Work

With over 7 years of clinical experience and thousands of hours of therapy practice, I’ve supported a diverse range of clients – across cultures, genders, age groups, and neurotypes. I value difference and work hard to create a space that honours your unique background, identity, and life experiences.

A Bit More About Me

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade immersed in Talmudic study, originally on the path to becoming a Rabbi. That experience shaped my appreciation for introspection, integrity, and life’s deeper questions — things like faith, meaning, and personal growth. While I never bring personal beliefs into the therapy space, I’m open to exploring spiritual or cultural themes if they’re important to you. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and value the richness that comes from working with diverse life experiences.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a therapist and mentor in a college for young people with complex needs – many of whom have struggled within mainstream education. I’m also a trustee for Yesoid Youth Club, an organisation dedicated to mentoring youth and supporting their development. For over a decade, I’ve supported young people by building authentic, trusting relationships and helping them feel seen, heard, and empowered through emotional, behavioural, and social challenges.

Outside of work, I find joy in music, spending time with close friends, and reflecting on life’s bigger questions — I have a deep curiosity for topics like near-death experiences and psychedelics. I also enjoy relaxing in a hot tub, meditating, working out, and spending time in nature. Scenic landscapes especially speak to me, and I feel a strong connection to the beauty of my homeland, Switzerland.

Get in touch

Reaching out can be hard – I get that. If you feel ready, I invite you to book a free 15-minute phone consultation. We can talk about what’s going on and whether I’m the right fit for you.

Therapy isn’t about quick fixes. It’s a gradual journey inward – one that can lead to deep understanding, healing, and greater freedom.

Warmly,

Philipp
